PRODUCT FAQS
What is an ioniser?
An ioniser is a device that creates the same bracing naturally ionised
air you find high in monutains, near waterfalls or breaking waves.
Our ionisers generate an intense, but safe, electrical field on
the tips of a bundle of fine carbon fibres, called the emitter.
The field takes the form of a tiny corona, which you can sometimes
see as a faint blue glow on the emitter in a darkened room when
you place your finger very close. This corona is responsible for
turning nearby air molecules into ions. Once ionised an air molecule
is then electrostatically propelled into the surrounding space.
See Science FAQs for more about ions.
Do your ionisers create ozone?
No. There is no detectable or measurable ozone emitted from myairZone
or mymicroZone - or from any of our commercial air processors.

Why does myairZone have a replaceable emitter?
myairZone is designed for use on the move, indoors and outdoors.
The chances of the emitter getting damaged or coated with grease
or dirt is much higher than for an ioniser sited on your desk or
bedside table. Damaged or dirty emitters may fail to emit ions.
So myairZone comes with a spare emitter. Order a service
kit if you need spare emitters.
Why does myairZone flash yellow?
myairZone has a built-in detector that checks that ions are being
emitted. A blue light means ions are being emitted; a yellow light
that emission has stopped. This can happen when dust in the air
settles on the fine fibres of the carbon-fibre emitter. It can also
occur if you get grease and dirt on the emitter. myairZone is the
only ioniser in the world that lets you know when it needs cleaning.
Usually it is simply a matter of blowing or flicking the emitter
fibres with your finger for it to start emitting ions again.
Sometimes the emitter will need changing - and your
myairZone comes with one spare emitter. Order a service
kit if you need spare emitters.
Some early emitters were over-sensitive to dirt causing
the yellow light to flash sometimes as often as every 20 minutes.
If you experience this problem then contact us and we will send
you a replacement emitter.
